Forged elbow is a type of pipe fittings manufactured through forging technology, which has the characteristics of high strength, high pressure resistance, and dense structure. It is widely used in industrial pipeline systems with high safety requirements such as petroleum, chemical, power, and urban heating.
Product Features
High strength and high reliability: It is formed by high-temperature forging, with continuous distribution of metal fibers, denser internal structure, no casting defects such as porosity and shrinkage, and excellent compressive and impact resistance.
High temperature and high pressure resistance: can withstand extreme working conditions, with a maximum pressure of up to 9000LB (about 62MPa), suitable for high temperature, high pressure, and highly corrosive media environments.
Diverse materials: Supports carbon steel (such as 20 #, Q355B), alloy steel (15CrMo, F22), austenitic stainless steel, duplex steel, titanium alloy, Hastelloy, Monel, Inconel, and customized special metals.
High dimensional accuracy: Further precision machining ensures that the dimensional tolerances of the connecting parts meet the standards and the installation fit is ideal.
Safe and reliable: Especially suitable for harsh working conditions, such as oil refineries, nuclear power plants, deep-sea oil and gas transportation and other critical systems.
execution standard
The design and manufacturing of forged elbows follow multiple authoritative standards at home and abroad to ensure interchangeability and safety:
Chinese standards:
GB/T 14383 "Forged steel socket welded pipe fittings"
SH/T 3410 Petrochemical Industry Standard
American Standard
ASME B16.11 "Socket welded and threaded forged fittings"
MSS SP-43 "Forged stainless steel butt welded fittings"
Other standards:
JIS B2316 (Japanese Standard): Steel socket welded fittings
DIN 2605/2615 (German standard): relevant specifications for forged elbows
Note: Some new designs, such as the "high-pressure movable elbow" (such as CN223924204U), have been patented and support quick disassembly and assembly to improve operational efficiency.
Dimensions
Nominal diameter (DN): The standard range is DN6 – DN100, and can be expanded to DN15 – DN1000 according to customized requirements.
Angle types: There are three common types: 45 °, 90 °, and 180 °, with 90 ° elbows being the most widely used.
connection method
Socket welding (SW): suitable for small and medium-sized high-pressure pipelines
Threaded connection (Thd): easy to install on site, no welding required
Pressure level adaptation:
Socket welding elbow: 3000LB, 6000LB, 9000LB
Threaded elbows: 2000LB, 3000LB, 6000LB
pressure rating
Pressure level (LB) | Applicable pipe wall thickness grade |
3000LB | Sch80、XS |
6000LB | Sch60 |
9000LB | XXS |
Attention: In high chloride ion environments (such as seawater and chemical media), stainless steel forged elbows pose a risk of stress corrosion cracking, and aluminum oxide inclusions in the material may accelerate crack propagation, which needs to be given special attention in material selection and working condition evaluation.
