GH3044 is a solution-strengthened nickel-based oxidation-resistant alloy. It possesses high ductility and moderate hot strength below 900°Cth excellent oxidation resistance and good stamping and welding properties. It is suitable for manufacturing components of main combustion chambers and afterburners, as well as heat shields and guidenes for aero-engines operating for extended periods below 900°C. Available forms include plates, strips, wires, tubes, bars, and rings. The forging heating temperaure for GH3044 ingots is 1170°C ± 10°C, with a final forging temperature not lower than 900°C. The heating temperatslab rolling is 1190°C ± 10°C, and the heating temperature for hot rolling of thin plates is 1130°C 10°C, with a final rolling temperature not lower than 800°C; the total reduction rate for cold rolling of thin plates is approximately 30%. GH3044 plates exhibellent stamping properties. The limiting drawing ratio for cold-rolled thin plates in the supplied condition is K_limit = 2.06.

Application scope domain

After solid solution treatment at 1200°C, the microstructure is essentially single-phase austenite with a small amount of MC M2C carbides. After long-term aging at 700–900°C, MC carbides undergo little change, while M2C carbides distribute in chains along the grai boundaries; with increasing aging time, the precipitation amount increases and the particles grow. Meanwhile, WCr solid solution precipitates are replenished within the grains and along the grain boundaries, as particles; with prolonged aging time, their quantity gradually increases and their size continuously grows.
